SITC Annual General Meeting

Friday, 15 April 2011 from 02:30PM to 04:00PM

Venue: Committee Room G, House of Lords, Westminster, London

Background

The SEEDA contract that led to the formulation of SITC comes to an end this month and over the last year we have been working hard to secure further Government funding to enable us to continue to provide the benefits that our members have enjoyed over the last 3 years.

Despite engaging with the several government agencies and presenting a strong case for further support based on SITC's track record of success, in the current economic climate further offers of funding have not been forthcoming.

We have surveyed our members to explore the feasibility of raising funds through membership fees, but the response so far is showing that there is limited support for this option.

We are currently in discussions with some of the UK Security Trade Associations to explore the possibility of SITC merging its activities into one of them.

So this AGM comes at a critical time for SITC.  We continue to explore the options available to us and at the start of April we intend to be able to set out proposals for the future of SITC for Members to consider and vote on at the AGM.

We would like to see as many SITC members as possible exercising their right to vote at the AGM (in person or by proxy) on the proposals set out for SITC's future.

I look forward to meeting with you all on the 15th or, if you are unable to attend, I hope you will complete a proxy form to make sure your voting wishes are taken into account.

Thanks very much,

Kind regards,

Steve Swain, CEO
SITC
