Background

The Cyber Security Forum 2011 provides an opportunity to focus on the contribution cyber security currently makes and can make in the future to the UK economy.  The conference is limited to 150 participants drawn from senior roles in government, industry and academia, ensuring quality and informed discussion.

Cyber Security benefits the economy by protecting national infrastructure, businesses, IP and personal data - those companies that take cyber security seriously will gain competitive advantage.  The Cyber domain also presents a wider strategic opportunity to Britain's economy and businesses in terms of R&D, innovation, new products and services, education and skills, and global leadership.

The challenge laid down is not simply for government - the private sector and academia have a very important role to play.

Programme

The day will be divided into two sessions: the first exploring cyber security's role in protecting the UK economy from attack; the second positioning the UK as a cyber centre of excellence.
