Background

ARCS 2011 is the ninth workshop in a series designed to bring together senior industrial researchers, policy makers and leading academics in the areas of: self-healing systems, resilient networks, cyber defence and secure ICT systems.  The ever increasing scale and sophistication of cyber attacks requires some radical new approaches to the design of cyber defence solutions and secure applications.  This workshop is designed as an active discussion between industrial stakeholders and leading academic groups from the Cyber Security domain, in order to generate insights into the emerging threats and secure solutions.

Some of the specific problems, which will be addressed, by the workshop presentations and dialogue include:

  • Design of self-healing networks
  • Defence against State-level and Advanced Persistent Threats.
  • Machine learning and defence strategies
  • Dynamic stability in large-scale networks
  • Complex Systems approaches to Security
  • Data Visualization for Security Analysis
  • Human Factors and Policy issues
