Background
Terrorism is identified as a principle risk in the National Security Strategy (NSS) published in October 2010. It is also one of the key planning assumptions in the Strategic Defence and Security Review, also published in 2010. In order to support the UK's capabilities in this area MOD's Counter Terrorism Science and Technology Centre (CT S&T Centre), a part of the Defence Science and Technology Programme Office at Dstl, is tasked to deliver S&T to support military capability over a wide range of areas including:
Programme
This industry day has the theme of: Delivering S&T to meet MOD's Counter-Terrorism Priorities, and will include briefings on MoD's key challenges in this area to encourage industry to help to deliver innovative and robust solutions.
The briefing day will be supported by appropriate MOD Capability areas and Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) in addition to the CT S&T Centre.
Booking
Because of the nature of this briefing, it will be held in a secure location and all participants must be security cleared (SC) UK nationals.
All bookings must be submitted by the closing date of Thursday 17 November 2011. Due to security requirements, late bookings will not be accepted.
