Cyber & Influence Introduction Day

Background:

To develop Cyber & Influence research, the Ministry of Defence is evolving a Cyber & Influence Centre to encourage a UK-wide enterprise capability to create, develop and implement the tools and techniques that are needed.

The proposed Cyber and Influence Centre will provide the strategic and technical leadership for MoD research in this area. It will formulate an innovative research programme to be delivered with contributions from across Government, Industry and Academia that will:

  • Ensure a deep understanding of the strategic and technical demands of MoD
  • Fulfil capability requirements through stretching, applied targets in the Physical
  • Information and Human Sciences
  • Develop a UK-wide enterprise capability in Cyber & Influence tools and techniques
  • Provide advice and contributions to meet the rapidly evolving operational needs

Based on the Cyber and Influence elements of the Defence Technology Plan (DTP) the centre will develop a single, integrated programme to address:

  • Analysis, Planning, Execution and Assessment of Information Operations
  • Understanding and Influencing Human Behaviour
  • Computer and Network Operations
  • Optimised C4ISTAR to support Information Operations

The Cyber & Influence Centre will draw together the UK’s leading researchers through trusted membership of Information Exchanges that will provide the opportunity for collaborating and exchanging across the wider UK Cyber and Influence activities.  This will also include attachments and secondments of personnel from industry and academia to elements of the Centre programme that must be delivered within government.

This seminar will be of interest to a wide range of SMEs, academia and industry and will cover a topics from across the Cyber and Influence area. There will also be the opportunity to learn more about the Centre for Defence Enterprise and the Ministry of Defence.
