Tuesday, 01 December 2009 from 09:00AM to 03:45PM

Venue:  Paris Regional Economic Development Agency (ARD), 3 rue des Saussaies, Paris 8

Background:

Timed to coincide with PRIT 2009 (see 30 November event), the Paris-based System@tic ICT and Complex Systems Cluster are inviting SITC Members (and several other international clusters) to participate in a Workshop in Paris which is intended to support 'matchmaking' in order to form international consortia to bid for EU Eurostars funding.  The intention is to submit these proposals by the next call deadline of 25 February 2010.

The Eurostars Programme is a European innovation programme managed by EUREKA.  Its purpose is to provide funding for market-oriented research and development specifically with the active participation of R&D-performing small and medium-sized enterprises.

In the United Kingdom only research-performing SME’s are eligible to claim up to 350,000 Euros (on the basis of 50% of eligible costs) as part of a Eurostars consortium.  Eurostars consortia must be led by a research-performing SME and have a balance of international partners that can include large companies and universities.

The eligibility criteria for a research-performing SME’s is 10% of turnover or 10% of staff time dedicated to R&D activities.  There are specific accountancy rules for Sole Traders and Micro Companies, for more details on UK eligibility costs and funding please look at the Technology Strategy Board website.
