Effective Technology-Based Aviation Security Seminar

Thursday, 03 December 2009 from 01:30PM to 07:30PM

Venue:  BIS Conference Centre, 1 Victoria Street, London SW1

Background:

Many security threats continue to affect the aviation sector. The UK security industry therefore needs to consider what technology based security solutions can help to mitigate these without slowing efficiency of both passenger and cargo operations.

SITC, A|D|S and BSIA are therefore organising a seminar designed to help their members understand:

  • The roles and responsibilities of the different agencies who are involved in ensuring the security of the aviation sector.
  • The wider policy viewpoint about how the regulatory authority sees aviation security developing, and the connection between technological improvements and human factors, including a case study on the European debate about technological developments to ensure the screening of liquids.
  • The requirements and the processes whereby new and emerging technologies are trialled and introduced into the aviation security regime through the regulatory system.

The purpose of this event is to enable the UK security industry to respond to these requirements with the appropriate developmental processes and technological solutions, to enable the regulators and operators involved in aviation security to survive and compete in today’s challenging environment.

Agenda:

The seminar session will include speakers from TRANSEC, the government regulator of the aviation sector, key UK airport operators, UK and International airlines and the cargo sector.

The seminar will be followed by an evening networking drinks and buffet reception.
