Background:

In 2016 Brazil will host the Olympic and Paralympic Games and planning is well underway.  SITC is supporting UKTI (South East) to organise this Supply Opportunities Scoping Visit to Brazil to explore the opportunities for UK companies arising from the 2016 games.

The 2016 Olympics organisers are actively looking for expertise, seeking suppliers in strategic planning, infrastructure development, construction and security and UK business has a wealth of experience, skills and capability gained from our preparations for the London 2012 and Paralympic Games.  UK companies are therefore ideally placed to win new business from Rio 2016.

This is a unique chance to identify direct supply opportunities with the Games procurement team or via partnering with Brazilian companies supplying the 2016 Games.

Companies that join this visit could benefit from:

• Support from an expert consultant, with direct business experience of Olympic Games procurement
• British Consulate General assistance through their Market Experts, a detailed overview of the market and useful trading tips covered during a briefing
• A two-city seminar programme involving the Rio 2016 delivery team and a presentation from the Rt. Hon. Tessa Jowell, Minister for Sport & the Olympics
• The chance to meet Brazilian companies supplying goods/services to the 2016 Games procurement team
• A tour of Olympic sites in Rio de Janeiro

Eligible companies in the South East region may receive financial support of at least £800 towards the cost of the visit.
