Event

Sparking Innovation in Science and Technology for Security

Wednesday, 23 June 2010 from 08:40AM to 05:35PM

Venue:  Royal United Services Institute, Whitehall, London

Background

This RUSI conference, in conjunction with the London Technology Network and supported by the Home Office, will bring together industry, academia and Government to encourage innovative thinking that will lead to new solutions for national security challenges.

An interactive, discussion-based programme with poster sessions, will focus on three key security areas: surveillance, biometrics and biosecurity.

Government representatives will discuss the challenges currently facing these areas and the solutions needed.  Delegates will be given the opportunity to brainstorm ideas that may help to shape the research and development agenda in the coming months.

With sessions looking into how public sector funding can be accessed, as well as how to ensure efficient engagement is maintained between Government, academia, industry and end-users, as well as an update on the industry engagement activities of the Office of Security and Counter Terrorism, the conference aims to generate ideas that can springboard into funded research projects.

Further details on the event are provided in the programme attached below..
