Background

The Technology Strategy Board (TSB) recently launched an £8m collaborative R&D funding competition on Trusted Services.

To support organisations wishing to form consortia to bid for this funding, The Digital Systems KTN and the TSB are hosting 4 regional events in May and June 2010.

SITC, through its Security Knowledge Network, is supporting the Digital Systems KTN in organising the London event along with other SEEDA Knowledge Networks in Digital Media and Telecare and Sector-Consortia (SEMN and SEHTA) and will also be working in partnership with these organisations to support the formation of consortia to submit proposals.

The Technology Strategy Board has set up an official sub-group on the _Connect platform entitled ‘Trusted Services’ where you will find further information on the competition, collaboration workshop information, an area where you can contact other interested parties, comment on blogs and in the “articles” section all the slides sets from workshops, such as the event from the launch event on 13th April and the Optional Briefing on 19th May.

Agenda

The agendas for these 4 workshops are flexible but will provide you with:

• An introduction to the Trusted Services competition
• Opportunities to learn lessons from previous applicants
• An introduction to the key Trusted Services concepts, end use contexts and policies
• Opportunities to ask questions
• Opportunities to present a short ‘pitch’ on your partnering needs
• Opportunities for informal networking over coffee and lunch.

Booking

The following regional workshops are scheduled:

• Bristol – 25th May
• London – 27th May
• Barnsley – 3rd June
• Edinburgh – 10th June

Each workshop will be a half day session except for the London event which will be slightly longer.  (Further details on the venue will be provided following your registration).

The workshops are free to attend, but prior registration is essential as numbers are limited.
