FP7UK National Contact Point for Security, in conjunction with the Home Office, are hosting an Information Session on FP7's Security theme and the recently announced Call for Proposals.

This complimentary event will be taking place on Tuesday 14th September 2010 from 1 - 5pm at the Emmanuel Centre, 9-23 Marsham Street, London. Please find attached below the agenda for the day

Delegates can hear direct from the EC what it is looking for from proposals in this call. There will also be organised speakers from industry, who have direct experience of participating in European funded collaborative R & D projects, as well as a representative from the security industry trade body, ADS.

The event is free to attend, but registration in advance is required. As demand for places will be high, numbers are limited to a maximum of 4 delegates from any one organisation.

EU Security Research Conference (SRC '10)

Background

The Security Research Conference is the main annual meeting for the European security research, technology and innovation community attracting around EU and international 1,000 delegates. It provides an important networking and brokerage opportunity for anyone interested in participating in European Security Research (e.g. through the FP7 Security Research Programme), getting updates on ongoing research projects and influencing the European security research agenda.

The conference includes a brokerage event and an exhibition to facilitate networking between companies, scientific experts, operators and policy makers. It will also feature live demonstrations in the fields of cargo security and crisis management, illustrating the multidisciplinary approach that is needed to resolve security issues.

SIGNATURE: The European Security Innovation Network - Networking and Brokerage Activities

SITC has established strong links into the European Security research community and is participating in SRC '10 in conjunction with its partners in SIGNATURE: The European Security Innovation Network. SIGNATURE is a new project led by ngauge solutions (UK) and funded by Interreg IVB NWE to supports greater collaboration between four leading EU Security Clusters: SITC (UK), LSEC (Belgium), Systematic (France) and TeleTrusT (Germany). SITC members who are interested in partnering in EU projects in the field of Identity Management are invited by SIGNATURE partner LSEC to attend a free Security Transnational Interest Group (STIG) meeting in Ostend arranged at 11.00-13.30 on Wednesday 22nd September, immediately before the start of SRC '10. The SIGNATURE partners are also organising a free Networking and Brokerage Reception for their collective memberships at the conference at 17.30 on Thursday 23rd September. International RFID and NFC Technology Partnering Event

Background

SITC has organised this international partnering and technology brokerage event to coincide with the RFID Europe Conference and a visit to the UK by 11 French companies with specialist RFID related technologies organised by the French National RFID Centre (CNRFID) as part of a European INNET Programme to build partnerships and technological collaboration across Europe.

This event is also being supported by SITC's partners in SIGNATURE: The European Security Innovation Network to encourage participation by companies from other European countries.

Details of the French delegation, their technology strategies and the specific types of partnerships they are seeking is included in the attached document (below). UK and other international participants registering for this event will be asked to supply similar information in advance of the event which will be shared among participants to maximise the opportunity for establishing useful relationships.

Potential mutually beneficial relationships may include:

Commercial Arrangements (to facilitate international sales, marketing and distribution)
Collaboration on R&D (to bring together complementary technology or access R&D funding)
Supply Chain Relationships (e.g. with Systems Integrators)

The event will commence with a networking lunch and include an update on the 'state of the art' in RFID and NFC technologies and applications by international experts, one-to-one 'speed dating' brokerage sessions to ensure participants have an opportunity to meet and exchange information about potential areas of collaboration, and networking time for follow on discussions.

International Port Security Conference & Exhibition 2010
