Background

The Security Research Conference is the main annual meeting for the European security research, technology and innovation community attracting around  EU and international 1,000 delegates.  It provides an important networking and brokerage opportunity for anyone interested in participating in European Security Research (e.g. through the FP7 Security Research Programme), getting updates on ongoing research projects and influencing the European security research agenda.

The conference includes a brokerage event and an exhibition to facilitate networking between companies, scientific experts, operators and policy makers.  It will also feature live demonstrations in the fields of cargo security and crisis management, illustrating the multidisciplinary approach that is needed to resolve security issues.

SIGNATURE: The European Security Innovation Network - Networking and Brokerage Activities

SITC has established strong links into the European Security research community and is participating in SRC '10 in conjunction with its partners in SIGNATURE: The European Security Innovation Network.  SIGNATURE is a new project led by ngauge solutions (UK) and funded by Interreg IVB NWE to supports greater collaboration between four leading EU Security Clusters: SITC (UK), LSEC (Belgium), Systematic (France) and TeleTrusT (Germany).  For details see: www.ngagesolutions.co.uk/news/signature-press-release 

SITC members who are interested in partnering in EU projects in the field of Identity Management are invited by SIGNATURE partner LSEC to attend a free Security Transnational Interest Group (STIG) meeting in Ostend arranged at 11.00-13.30 on Wednesday 22nd September, immediately before the start of SRC '10.  Please contact Paul Osborne at SITC for further details.

The SIGNATURE partners are also organising a free Networking and Brokerage Reception for their collective memberships at the conference at 17.30 on Thursday 23rd September.  SITC members attending the conference are invited to participate in this Reception and can reserve places by registering online at: http://signaturesrc.eventbrite.com/  or by visiting the SIGNATURE exhibition booth at SRC '10 to pick up a ticket.

The delegate rate is 175 Euros if you register on line at: http://www.src10.be/Registration.html up until 10 September (otherwise it is 225 Euros on the day).

Car ferries from Ramsgate to Ostend (LD Lines) or from Dover to Dunkirk (NorfolkLine) provide inexpensive options for travel to Ostend from the UK.
