SITC is a European partner of the European Security Innovation Network: SIGNATURE

Overview of SIGNATURE project

The aim of the SIGNATURE is to increase Europe's security & global competitiveness by developing and integrating European security sector clusters and become a leading European security network.

Seven partners from four countries are working to bring SIGNATURE to life.  Jointly, these cluster organisations represent over 1,000 companies from all over the world - including EADS, GEMALTO, Thales, MORPHOS, Zetes, Vasco, McAfee, Sophos and Unisys - with an enormous expertise in security.  The SIGNATURE partners are:

The project is supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the INTERREG IVB programme.

Security Transnational Interest Groups (STIGS)

In the SIGNATURE project, SITC is responsible for the delivery of the 'Security of the Citizen' theme and under this theme SITC will create 2 STIGS.

Each STIG will bring together clusters, businesses and experts with expertise in a specific area of the security sector with the ultimate aim to realize joint actions to call for tender, joint development of R&D programmes and joint development activities between companies and experts.  This will be achieved by organizing public and closed user group discussions, participating in online and face-to-face workshops, discussions and transnational tenders, and jointly designing future activities.

In a series of interactive workshops, security experts will be challenged with different scenarios of current and future potential threats, with a focus on a converging landscape and cross-border issues.  Each STIG will prepare preparatory workshops to improve the ability of SMEs to participate in collaborative partnerships, and each STIG will have its own virtual collaborative space on the SIGNATURE website.
